Bike Ride to Work
Aug 12, 2008
I am trying out a new mode of commuting-- riding a bike to work. This past week I bought a "folding" bike and mapped out my route to the university. Yes, it is a short commute, 1.5 miles, but I figure, it will keep me grounded! Street level views are so much more interesting than car views...

In Tribute to Laurence Gary
Nov 30, 2007
My father passed away November 25th peacefully in his sleep. He was 90 years old. I learned hard work, persistance, focus, and most of all, love from him. Here is his obituary, that appeared in the Baltimore Sun. He was buried at Loudon Park Cemetary in south east Baltimore, Maryland.

Can Entrepreneurs Save the Planet?
Jul 27, 2007
Can entrepreneurs be vehicles to build culture and communities, not just economies? Check out my views on this subject, as this Fall I teach a new course, BMBA 601, The Future of Commerce, with an emphasis on foresight, creativity, innovation, and social entrepreneurship.

In Tribute to Bernice Gary
Nov 1, 2006
My mother passed away October 27, 2006 peacefully in her sleep, after a month being ill. She was 88 years old. She was the kindness person I ever met. This is her eulogy, offered at her funeral service by her pastor, Dr. Rod Miller.

About
In Service of the Future
Jun 30, 2006
For a decade now I have been involved in comparative futures research with religious scholars, from a wide variety spiritual traditions. Recently, the World Network of Religious Futurists asked me to reflect on why as an Evangelical author, missiologist and leadership scholar, I am open to others. I wrote this essay as an Earl Award winner, on their 25th anniversary.   Visit Website ]

On the personal side, Olgy and I marked our 25th wedding anniversary this month. She has been busy writing novels and working with local kids and authors. See her childrencomefirst.com site. Our youngest daughter Christine graduated high school in May and is off to to Tuft's university this fall in Boston. Our oldest David worked and studied for the year after high school, and now has entered UC Boulder in the college of Engineering. I am very proud of them all.
