It's All Wright?
Apr 29, 2008
Yesterday I caught Rev. Jeremiah Wright's speech to the National Press Club. As grounded as Wright appears to be in the prophetic tradition of speaking truth to power, he has fallen from his perch. The question remains, will Obama act as a transformational leader to take us beyond the All-Wright show. Or will presidential leadership on race and diversity now come from Clinton or McCain.

To Be or Not Be Global?
Oct 15, 2006

Beyond that, global business, not just governments, are now becoming the greater moderators of whether our world makes it through the 21st century. So global leadership is about using principles for both the employee and the organization, that build both markets and communities. McCain Embraces Christian Zionist
Mar 8, 2008
Republican presidential nominee Senator John McCain has openly embraced the endorsement of controversial televangelist John Hagee, the founder of Christians United for Israel in San Antonio, Texas. Hagee has come under criticism for his extreme views on Islam, Israel, and the Catholic Church. Could one-sided support by Christians for Israel end-up jeopardizing the security of America and Britain? Many see Bush's unilateral support for Israel in this light. Would McCain be any different? Catch this DVD I produced, entitled, Christian Zionists: on the road to Armageddon" by Dr. Stephen Sizer, an English vicar and historian. Visit website.

The Call of the Entrepreneur?
Oct 24, 2007
Filmmakers have unleashed a flurry of short documentaries. The latest is the Call of the Entrepreneur. This film tells stories of people who risk their savings, bet on the farm, and defy conventional wisdom. How we view them, whether greedy or altruistic, shapes not only free markets, but shapes the role of government, the rule of law, the role of philanthropy, and the wealth-creating capacity of inventions. I just saw a screening of this DVD, produced by Acton Institute. Catch the 4 minute trailer, and make up your own mind. [ Visit Website ]

Tomorrow Land at Microsoft
Oct 8, 2007
On a recent trip to Seattle, I spend two hours at Microsoft's Center for Information Work (CIW) in Redman, WA. Microsoft's CIW offers an exclusive look at how people might work in the future. It showcases emerging technology innovations that might improve productivity and connectivity. Through role-playing with computers and video conferencing, we saw how future software might enhance individual productivity, spot business trends, and simplify communications of work teams and their document management. One of the highlights was a house of the future, where smart homes use RFID and programmed rooms to change dining room decors, display changing digital memories and communicate with kids throughout their day. Catch Microsoft's virtual tour online. [ Visit Website ]
