About
Welcome to my World

Jay Gary speaking at the 2003 World Future Society
Thank you for stopping by for a visit. I posted this site so you could keep current with my latest speaking engagements and writings.

JayGary.com is an archive for my past work, most of which, has never been posted anywhere. For example, from 1998 to 2000, I served as a consultant to cities, helping them launch community building programs that marked their passage into the 21st century. Check out a speech I gave to Denver civic leaders in this regard, entitled, The Mile High Millennium.

Another example is my "Chronology of Student Ministry." In 1972 I came to Christ as a college student and after I graduated colleged, worked as a campus ministry. I will always be indebted to what I gained in college. In the late '80s, as a consultant to an international campus ministry, I began building a knowledge base of the role that students had played in history. This article documents that project. See A Chronology of Student Ministry.

My work with both civic and faith-based communities has never been more full. I've been pleased the last two years to be the chairman of the local World Future Society in Colorado Springs. In that regard, I gave a "farewell" address recently to the chapter on the future of religion. Check out my powerpoint slides on "Does Faith Have a Future?"

I summarize my mission statement these days as "helping communities cultivate foresight." And that especially applies to faith communities, helping graduate schools and ministries use insights from future studies to reinvent their missions. This year I am planning various consultations and addresses to major congresses on this subject of "futurizing theological education."

I plan on improving this website in the coming weeks, especially adding archived webcasts of past lectures I have.

Yours for the kingdom of God,

Jay Gary
