![]() ![]() for Christians 2000 A.D. ![]() Maria Thordson is especially interested in Church History and Ecumenism and has done study in this area at universities in the United States and at the universities of Uppsala and Lund in Sweden. To further her interest in Ecumenism, she also attended the Assemblies of the World Council of Churches in Uppsala, Vancouver and Canberra. While living in Jerusalem she has met with and interviewed many of the indigenous Christians and gotten to know and love them. The result is her book, which contains her observation and information concerning the present situation of Christian Men and Women in the Land of Christ almost 2,000 years after his birth. I hope that this book will assist people in getting to know the Christians, the "living stones" of this land. ![]() --REV. JOHN C. MELIN ![]() The book that Maria Thordson has undertaken is of great importance to those who seek to understand Christianity in the Holy Land. She shows that churches dating back to the time of the Apostles continue their faithful witness here despite serious odds. She helps visitors to the land of Jesus appreciate not only historic holy places but the "living stones." ![]() --J. MARTIN BAILEY ![]() ...helps future visitors to get to know better and to appreciate more fully the richness of the Church in Jerusalem, with all its various traditions. ![]() --FR.
