DR. MARIA THORDSON from Stockholm, Sweden is a member of the Lutheran Church of the Redeemer in Jerusalem. Maria, an educator and pastor, has been a teacher at Teacher Training Colleges and served as minister of the Luthern Church of Sweden.
Since 1967, she has lived for varying periods of time in Jerusalem. She knows what it means to be a tourist and a pilgrim. At the same time, she also knows what is means to live in Jerusalem, both privately with her husband and as a scholar at various institutions, such as Tantur Ecumenical Institute and the Albright Institute, where she presently resides and is doing research.
