Jesus Under Fire
"Responding to Radicals who
Reinvent the Historical Jesus "

Like never before, people today are inventing Jesus in their own image.
Radical skeptics like those of the Jesus Seminar have undertaken a nation-wide effort to undermine people's confidence in the words and deeds of Christ.
They are speaking out in many popular publications such as Time, Life and Newsweek, claiming to represent mainstream contemporary New Testament scholarship.
Yet upon closer scrutiny, the ideas of the Jesus Seminar are intellectually inadequate. If we accept the portrait of Jesus painted by skeptics, we have merely a wise teacher, a religious sage and a pious spinner of tales and pithy proverbs.

The Jesus Under Fire Seminars, led by Drs. Michael J. Wilkins and J.P. Moreland, consists of four one hour sessions:

How is Jesus Under Fire, and Why?
What has sparked the current barrage of attempts to reinvent Jesus? This session discusses the nature of radical critiques of Jesus and places the contemporary debate in its historical context.

Is Jesus Fact or Fiction?
How trustworthy is our historical information about Jesus, inside and outside the New Testament? What evidence do we have that he said the things the New Testament claims he said?

Who is Jesus and was he Really a Miracle Worker?
Was Jesus just an end-time prophet, a wise man or a religious and social activist? Or was he really the miracle working Son of God who rose bodily from the dead?

Strategy to Impact the World
If the orthodox view of Jesus is trustworthy, then a strategy to educate the public and the church about Christ must be undertaken, in the light of radical attempts to reinvent Him.
