Today we give little thought to the meanings of names. But quite the opposite is true of the names of Jesus in the Bible. These names were given by God not only to honor Christ but to give us a clearer understanding of who He is and a better grasp of His power, glory, and greatness. Henry Gariepy has selected 100 names and titles and created brief studies that will enlarge your view of the Savior and cause you to exclaim with the songwriter, "How great Thou art!"

PREFACE
"God . . . has highly exalted Him, and given Him a name which is above every name, that at the name of Jesus every knee should bow." (Phil. 2:9-10)
This book is a biography of the person and ministry of Christ, as revealed by 100 names and titles ascribed to Him in Scripture. Each name and title is a revealing portrait of our Lord, providing the reader with fresh insights and applications of their meaning for Christian living.
The portraits are in four divisions, the first portraying Our Lord's Eternity. The reader here encounters such magnificent presentations of Christ as Alpha and Omega, The Mighty God, Radiance of God's Glory. The second gallery of portraits is of our Lord's Earthly Life and Ministry. Here one finds the warm and human portrayals of Christ as Jesus, Brother, Nazarene, Carpenter, Jew, Teacher, Physician.
A deeper appreciation will come for the familiar portraits of the third section on Our Lord's Abiding Ministry. There will be a kinship with such delineations as Friend, Saviour, Lord, Our Hope, Pioneer of our Salvation, The King of kings. Our Lord's self-portraits culminate the series with such sublime revealings as Light of the World, The Good Shepherd, Resurrection and the Life, The Way, Bright Morning Star.
This devotional study of 100 portraits of Christ leads the reader to know our Lord better and to more faithfully follow Him in his daily Christian life.
There are few works that will be as revealing and helpful on the most important subject of all Jesus Christ.
