![]() A Prayer of the Fourth Wise Man ![]() by Jay Gary ![]() ![]() ![]() Then one evening, it suddenly appeared. Morning was just about to break when Jupiter and Saturn strolled together like two saffron flames merging into one. ![]() As Zalshar watched, a royal blue spark burst out of the darkness beneath. Jupiter emerged wearing a magnificent mantle of light. ![]() "This is the heavenly sign," Zalshar cried. "The morning Star is soon to arise in every heart. Another journey of the Magi must surely begin." Before embarking, Zalshar lifted up his eyes to heaven and prayed, ![]() Oh sovereign Lord, Father of lights, hear the prayer of your servant on this cold starry night. ![]() My journey has taken me across many lands, on horses and camels to seek the Son of Man. ![]() Through the centuries I have wandered in search of thy Star, looking for the true spirit of giving, both near and far. ![]() As the church lifts her eyes to see the star of your Son, give her a spirit of wisdom that they all might be one. ![]() Let her bring forth gifts of adoration like my brother Magi of long ago, treasures of pure devotion so the world will clearly know. ![]() Oh sovereign Lord, the fullness of time is at hand, Glorify your Son in your presence with the glory He had when the world began. ![]() When I consider the heavens, the awesome work of your hands, Let a temple to Christ be built so a new memorial might stand. ![]() Send forth your holy angels from the East to the West, to gather praises and tributes to present to Christ our best. ![]() As this happens in heaven, On earth may awakening come. As we celebrate the greatest Christmas ever May your will be done. ![]() AMEN. ![]() This except is Epilogue (pp. 150-151.) of The Star of 2000 by Jay Gary. Click here to preview the book. ![]()
