JAY GARY is an author and speaker who enjoys the adventure of life. His latest book, The Star of 2000, lets you experience the mystery and magic of our historic journey toward hope, found in the 2,000th anniversary of Jesus.
Hailed by UPI Radio as the "recognized expert on the Year 2000," Mr. Gary is the president of Celebration 2000a special events consulting company formed in 1989 to support creative jubilee projects.
Since that time he has been a lead developer for various church and civic millennial projects, including Holy Land 2000 and the Pikes Peak Millennial Season. He has also given keynotes and seminars for a wide variety of churches, academic forums or national conferences. His work toward 2000 has been featured by the L.A. Times and on CNN.
In addition to his speaking and consulting, Mr. Gary is known as the Internet "Millennium Doctor" and serves as the host for "Talk 2000the heartbeat of 2000 A.D. in cyberspace."
In 1997, Mr. Gary was recognized as the "Religious Futurist of the Year" at the World Future Society for his work in using the millennium to build the future of humanity. He presently serves as the director of Christian Futures.
From 1986 to 1989, Mr. Gary served as a conference planner with the Lausanne movement, a network launched by Billy Graham. From 1976 to 1986, Mr. Gary worked as a pastor to college students, a mission educator and a magazine editor.
Mr. Gary and his wife, Olgy have been married since 1978 and have two children. They live under the "purple mountain majesties" of Colorado Springs, Colorado.
